IC-7600 RTTY Settings for MMTTY

I have posted these before, but people keep asking about the settings to use for RTTY on the IC-7600 with MMTTY. So this post provides my latest settings. This article provides my latest MMTTY settings screenshots. I am using it with N1MM+ Contest Logger. If you are having trouble using MMTTY with another program (N1MM+ or other Logger or Rig Control program), you may want to get MMTTY working standalone first. There are other articles on this Blog that talk about IC-7600 RTTY and I suggest using the SEARCH tool to find those. You must have the Radio Settings correct. You should be using a Mode like “LSB-D1” on the Rig and the corresponding “DATAMOD” (DATA1MOD if using LSB-D1) setting must be USB. This is found in the SET–>ACC–>DATA1MOD menu item

This article is only for using the USB connection between the 7600 and PC and using AFSK RTTY. Sound is generated and decoded by the soundcard internal to the 7600. Note that the RECEIVE path uses the “Microphone” settings and the TRANSMIT path uses the “Speaker” settings on the PC. It makes sense if you think about it, but don’t go tweaking the “Speaker” settings to change the TRANSMIT drive power. It won’t work.

It seems that my biggest problem is returning to RTTY after some time using other Modes on my rig, and nothing will Transmit. While this is usually a SETTING that has mysteriously changed, I have also heard there are times when the IC-7600 is not being keyed by the Soundcard data, that are not well understood. I will just say that every time this happened to me, I was able to get it working, eventually.
