ICOM Plans New Product Announcement at Dayton Hamvention

I am just reading that ICOM has a new product concept that will be unveiled at Dayton. Any new product from ICOM is always met with grand expectations. Here is a link to a discussion about some possibilities about the new radio:

If it is truly a new mobile radio, as some are speculating, I say it’s about time! I had an IC-7000 for several years and it was a great mobile do-it-all radio. Detachable head, covered HF, VHF, and UHF, and it was a real pleasure to operate. To me, the IC-7100 was a complete disappointment. I never liked the strange detachable head with the base stand.

Here’s hoping for something big from ICOM for mobile/portable use
